Copyright/Soundtrack

These are the sound tracks we were interested in. We decided not to use Beanie segals "feel it in the air" based on copyright reasons, so we used "islands" instead.

Meeting Notes

We have had various meetings as a group and we of course decided on the genre/theme of our opening sequence in the first meeting and then proceeded to draw up a story board. Which can be seen in our post about project development  We also thought about specific shots that we would like to use, this can also be seen in the project development post as we have uploaded images of us whilst working.

Later meetings, we discussed about where we are with our work and then we figured out what step we next needed to take, for example we would set individuals the tasks of researching sound tracks which could used for our piece or even titles and artwork which could be effective.

Locations

At first we said that we would shoot our opening sequence at the putney exchange centre as we thought it would create a good atmosphere and it suited our plans for filming and allowed us to film exactly how we wanted to, however this came with diffuculties as we was not allowed to film at putney due to private property permissions.

So then we decided that we would film in New Malden car park,  we chose this as it was also just as convenient for us as it did not not restrict any of the shots which we had olanned to shoot in Putney, New Malden was also convenient due to where most of us live.

Here are pictures off where we filmed in New Malden.

These four images above and to the left are all the images of our location on the roof of the car park, we thought it was effective because of the open space and the back drop it gives with the view as it overlooks everything else.

These two are images of the stairs and the lifts, which are both used in our opening scene, we used a lift and stairs as we wanted to highlight the contrast between the two different characters.

Organising shoots

As a group we have organised that we are going to film our first piece of footage for the 14th of December. We will film a rough idea of the shots that we want to use, once we have seen these we will then re-schedule and aim to film our final pieces of footage.

We will now film on the 19th of January as we have had a difference in location, we also have a clearer idea of where we want to film. This can be seen our locations post, we will still need to even more as it is likely once we have edited what we currently have that we will need to make slight changes in order to make our opening sequence as good as it can possibly be.

Our last filming session should be on the 14th of February, we have edited as much as we can and now we only need minuscule changes to finish off our piece of work, we hope that we will not need to re-shoot anymore footage.

Costumes & Props

Balaclava Masks Worn by Charlie And Ryan
BB Guns (Not Loaded) Used by Charlie And Ryan
Duffle Bag x2

We want to use these props to emphasise the conventions of the crime genre.

These were our initial ideas, however we came to the conclusion that it would be difficult to be able to use the guns and the balaclava's in our opening sequence as it goes against our health and safety regulations and the gun's especially would pose a diffuculty in public as members of the public could easily become confused and mistake the toy guns for real ones. In the end we decided to only use the two duffle bags as props.

"Finally Rich: The Story of Keith Cozart" Synopsis

Finally Rich: The Story of Keith Cozart

The opening sequence follows 2 Teenagers trying to acquire a substantial amount of money. To do this they hold up a local convenience store but things don't all go according to plan.

That was our old idea but we had to change as the first idea was very hard and difficult to perform. We then changed to a mysterious exchange between characters who the audience don't know a lot about. This kept to our original genre and had shared some of the same conventions but it was easier to find a place to film. The audience will follow their journey as they make their way through an empty location, before eventually meeting and exchanging duffle bags then walking back into the direction they came from.We believe this to be an effective opening sequence as it creates enigma and introduces the characters effectively through conventions such as costume and the contrast in camera shots.
